日本文化デイで感じた「和」の心 レポート：ルギー・プリリ・ケイト（地域おこし協力隊）

日本文化デイ10月26日に開催されていました。
日本の文化の日に、私たちは日本の伝統的な遊びや活動を直接体験する機会がありました。いくつかの文化的なゲームに参加し、その中には難しいものもありましたが、とても楽しく、日本の伝統の精神に深く触れることができました。これらの遊びは、単に楽しむだけでなく、忍耐や戦略、チームワークといった価値観を学ぶきっかけにもなりました。
さらに、同じように日本文化を探求したいと考えている他の外国人の方々とも出会いました。お互いの体験を共有し、遊びや活動の背後にある文化的な意味について学び合うことができ、とても興味深い時間でした。書道や折り紙など、さまざまな日本文化の要素に挑戦しながら、楽しく交流することができました。
このような文化交流と楽しい活動を通して、その日は特別な一日となりました。私は改めて、文化理解の重要性を実感し、「文化の日」のようなイベントを通して国と国との垣根を越え、多様性を共に祝い合うことができるのだと感じました。

Japan Culture day held on 26th October 2025. During Japan Culture Day, I had the opportunity to experience traditional Japanese games and activities firsthand. I participated in several cultural games, some of which were both challenging and entertaining, and I found myself immersed in the spirit of Japanese tradition. The games not only allowed me to enjoy myself but also gave me a deeper understanding of the values that these games embody, such as patience, strategy, and teamwork. Moreover, I met other foreigners who were also eager to explore Japanese culture. It was fascinating to share our experiences and learn from each other’s perspectives on the cultural significance behind the games and activities. We all enjoyed trying out different Japanese cultural elements, from calligraphy to origami, and it was a great way to connect with others while having fun.
This experience of cultural exchange and fun-filled activities made the day even more special. It reaffirmed my belief in the importance of cultural understanding and how, through events like Japan Culture Day, we can bridge gaps between nations and come together to celebrate diversity.

初めての盆踊り！ 忘れられない夏の思い出 (Nurudin)

こんにちは、ヌルディンです。僕は今年4月にインドネシアから日本に来ました。先日、働いている湧愛園で6年ぶりの盆踊り大会が開催され、僕にとって初めての経験でした。
たくさんの提灯に彩られた会場を見て、とてもワクワクしました。僕は担当している利用者さんの車椅子を押して、盆踊りの輪の周りをゆっくりと回りました。彼女は手拍子をしたり、懐かしそうに歌を口ずさんだりしていました。その笑顔を見て、僕もとても幸せな気持ちになりました。
この盆踊り大会は、日本に来てよかったと心から思える、忘れられない夏の思い出になりました。

Hello, my name is Nurudin. I came to Japan from Indonesia this past April, and recently had my very first experience with Bon Odori at Yuai-en. It was the first time the festival was held in six years.
Seeing the venue decorated with so many lanterns filled me with excitement. I pushed the wheelchair of the resident I care for, and we slowly moved around the dance circle. She clapped her hands and hummed along to the nostalgic music. Seeing her smile made me so happy.
This Bon Odori festival has become an unforgettable summer memory, and it makes me so glad that I came to Japan.

8月3日の夜、湧別町の七夕まつりに行ってきました！✨
願い事は書かなかったけど、「星空の路」の幻想的な光景に癒されました
やさしい灯りとたくさんの短冊…見ているだけでもほっこり。
そしてクライマックスの**花火の祭典**は、本当に圧巻！
町のみんなと一緒に夜空を見上げる時間は、忘れられない思い出になりました。
湧別のあたたかい雰囲気と夏のにぎわいを感じられて嬉しかったです。
次は昼間からもっと楽しみたいな☺️

On the night of August 3rd, I visited the Tanabata Festival in Yubetsu! ✨
I didn’t write a wish on a tanzaku, but just walking through the magical “Starry Road” filled with lights and wishes warmed my heart
And the highlight… the fireworks show was absolutely stunning!
Watching the colorful fireworks light up the summer sky with everyone around was such a special moment.
Even though I only came at night, I could feel the warmth and energy of the community.
Can’t wait to join from the daytime next year!

第40回サロマ湖100kmウルトラマラソン応援 レポート：ルギー・プリリ・ケイト（地域おこし協力隊）

北海道湧別町で開催された「第40回サロマ湖100kmウルトラマラソン」を、介護施設オホーツク園の利用者さんと一緒に応援しました！
利用者さんたちは手を振ったり「がんばって！」と声援を送ったり、元気いっぱいにランナーを励ましてくださいました。
沿道で笑顔があふれ、ランナーの皆さんの反応に利用者さんも大喜び。「私たちも元気をもらったね」と笑顔がこぼれました。
地域の一大イベントを、世代を超えて一緒に楽しむことができた、心あたたまるひとときでした。

[Cheering on the 40th Saroma Lake 100km Ultramarathon ]
We cheered on the runners of the 40th Saroma Lake 100km Ultramarathon, held in Yubetsu Town, Hokkaido, together with the residents of the Ohotsuku-en nursing home!
The residents enthusiastically waved their hands and shouted, “Keep it up!” to support the runners with big smiles.
The roadside was filled with cheerful energy, and the runners’ responses brought great joy to the residents.
Many smiled and said, “We received so much energy from them too.”
It was a heartwarming moment, where different generations came together to enjoy one of the town’s major events.

今日は「希望叶える日」ということで、みんなでチューリップ公園に行ってきました！
色とりどりのチューリップが満開で、とってもきれいでした。天気も良くて、みんな笑顔でお花を眺めたり、写真を撮ったりして楽しい時間を過ごしました。「ずっと来たかった場所に来られて嬉しい」と喜んでくださる声もあり、スタッフ一同ほっこり。素敵な春の思い出になりました！

As one of our program in facility, we took the users to go to sightseeing in Kami Yubetsu Tulip’s Park.
It was a lovely shiny day, even we can smell the scent of flowers!
To seeing the smiles of users means a lot for us.
Let’s wait for next year’s bloom!
